A Wedding Photographer’s Perth Locations
Popular wedding photography locations in Perth include the West End of Fremantle, Kings Park, The University of Western Australia grounds, the Perth Town Hall building, and various wineries and venues in the Swan Valley (Caversham House is a very popular wedding and reception venue which also has attractive grounds suitable for location wedding photography).
One of the single most popular wedding photography locations in Perth is the “blue boat shed” on the Swan River. If you’re from Perth, you’ll know what we’re talking about. It’s important to always have a backup plan if this is on your list of locations. Access to the boatshed can be quite difficult due to the busy road alongside, and as it is such a popular location, there is no guarantee that it won’t already be being used for someone else’s wedding!
It’s also important to remember that some Perth wedding photography locations are not free to use: in particular the UWA grounds, the Cottesloe Civic Centre grounds and Kings Park all require permits. It’s worth organising these rather than sneaking in, as being harangued by a Ranger is sure to put a damper on your wedding day! Here’s some useful contacts:
- Caversham House (08) 9279 1167
- UWA Visitor’s Centre (for bookings) (08) 6488 2447
- Kings Park Wedding Photography Bookings (08) 9480 3624
- Cottesloe Civic Centre Hire (08) 9384 2422
- Sandalford Winery (08) 9374 9374
The Cooper Studio team are very experienced at all of the locations listed above, but also have a long list of special locations where you are more likely to be the only bridal couple.
