So we have had an exciting couple of weeks in the studio! For a bit of fun, we spent several hours last week with a film crew to get some footage for a new movie for the studio!

This will look pretty awesome once the awesome production team have finished with all the editing work (lots of long hours ahead for them I think!!) so stay tuned for the final results!!

The whole idea of us doing this little movie is to give you guys at home a little bit of an insight into what we get up to at work, and show behind the scenes at a studio shoot. We had two awesome guinea pigs shoots – Erica,  and the wonderful Lewis family who lent us their kids Maddison and Tyson for a family shoot (with a bit of a twist of the popular cake smash theme).

The afternoon was a load of fun for all involved, which will hopefully come across in the video! Nicole and I ran around and had some extra fun taking candids of the whole experience so will share them here with a bit of a explanation & photo essay of how the day went!

 First up was Erica getting hair and makeup done by the talented Jessica Thorpe from Wonderland Hair & Styling.

Once Erica was finished with hair & makeup, her & Craig went through everything she brought in to see what we would use in the shoot….

& hung up her dresses….

Once the film crew set up their wall of tripods (we have never seen so many tripods and cameras in the studio before!!) …

We were able to get underway with Erica’s shoot. Craig & I took turns & had the fun of having a microphone attached to us… the audio should be interesting!

So I think you guys have got the idea, so will stop talking & let the candids from Erica’s shoot speak for themselves! (& if you think these look cool, wait until you see the shots we actually took!)

We had a lot of fun with the guys trying to get the shots they were wanting for the video – often at times we would be taking shots of Erica with the boys in the background of our shots – so really we were taking photos of them taking photos of us!!!

But as self-confessed gadget geeks, what we found extra cool about the film crew being there was some of the gear they had with them! Especially the skateboard with camera mount! You can see it in this shot next to me….

Once we had finished Erica’s shoot, we reset the studio in preparation for our family shoot – big thanks to Nat & Steve for lending us their kids!

This shoot ran in a similar fashion to the beauty shoot with Erica, except with the added challenge of small children! As a part of this shoot, we did a take on a cake smash using cupcakes – suffice to say the kids enjoyed them once they got stuck into it! We got some pretty adorable shots that we will have to share with you all!

Once we had finished up with the family shoot, we had a bit more fun playing around with the film crew to get more of the shots that they wanted….

& I even managed to get some embarrassing shots of Craig that he will probably find revenge for later!!

From there the last portion of the day was an interview with Craig to allow you guys to get a little bit of insight into the world of photography.

Well for now anyway….. hopefully we will have some more updates for you soon in regards to this project, and we can’t wait to share the finished video with you all!!
